Arguments Over LLOW
If you haven't already heard LLOW you can listen to it by clicking the top video to the left. We are arguing over how well the third verse fits. Brian is an excellent vocalist, however a concern of Entertayn and many other people who have head the song is; does he fit the style? Entertayn had his reservations from the fist time playing it back. After Nate lays down a smooth set of vocals, and I.G.C. hits a slick laid back verse Brian's singing style seem like a shock to the feel. At fist this was blamed on the mix, however after hearing the final cut that will be on the album the third verse still seems not to fit in. It isn't as obvious as it initially was however it still is a small issue that has caused disagreement. Obviously the beat wasn't specifically made to cater to Brian the same way it was made to compliment I.G.C.'s low mumbles and Nate's graceful chorus. Thee will be future songs that will be catered to fit Brian's Powerful voice. His style is without a doubt most suited to the rock style, and is not quite as seamless on a r&b tack like this, especially one with such quirky production. LLOW is a very under rated song and after the album recording is finalized this will likely be the fist song to get a push. It is a very well produced beat and hands down already one of the strongest performances on the album.

More album reviews coming
Next week more album reviews are coming. Travis Barker give the drummer some Lupe Fiasco LASERS, Gucci Mane return of Mr. Zone 6, a late review of Kanye West My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. I'm gonna have to be fair with my reviews because sites like Sputnik Music have some apparent beef with 'Atlantic records rappers, and are giving their albums unfairly low scores and not being specific why.

Mixtape Review: La Flare and Flame

I have noticed on the internet that mixtapes are going unnoticed and they are the main support for rap music mixtapes are they pure unadulterated soul of hip-hop as they are made by the artist with them on the mic spitting whatever they want and share it with their fans. I was reluctant to download this mixtape just because of the negative press and negativity toward the two artists involved as a whole. I'm glad I decided to ignore all of that noise and give what turned out to be a great collection of songs a listen. To me Gucci Mane and Waka Flocka Flame get alot of undeserved hate just because of the subject matter they use. I personally don't agree with all of the things I hear about them not having any lyrical ability. People often mistake lyricism with subject matter but their not the same. In La Flare and Flame Waka Flocka was on fire with his flows and even blew me away with his performance on the song "Pattycake." "Pattycake" was one of my favorites because of the catchy hook and they way Gucci and Flocka rolled over the beat with ease. Many people call Flocka a terrible lyricist when really they just don't get what he's saying. My favorite song on the album "Bite Me" Was a stand out thanks to the beat and the way Gucci went in with a double time flow that is impressive to hear from him. The mush mouthed verse over Bite Me by Gucci made the entire song. I'll be honest Flocka was kind of weak on this one I didn't feel like he did all he could have after hearing him on the song before. The song "Trick or Treat" was yet another catchy song something that Gucci and Flocka no doubt have a knack for. All of the appearances from the other rappers in the seemingly endless pool of Brick Squad members made strong performances. Lex Luger did his thang on "365" with the most energetic and hardest song on the mixtape. "365" was a strangely refreshing song, which might seem like a strange word to describe a song as brutal as this one, however the amount of raw passion and energy that comes through the mic and into your speakers is amazing, all the way from the chantable hook, to the machine gun solo to start the song, to the absolutely brutal lyrics, to the menacing beat make "365" a standout and Flocka does his best with a silly amount of violence coming through on his rapping and so much brutality it becomes silly after a while. Waka Flocka Flame does another one of his numbers on "Flight to The Motherland" where his energy keeps the song going, and if it was anyone else but Flocka I would call it horrible but he can pull it off. The beat is rather simple, but the lyricism was substantial enough to make the song entertaining and I could dig it. Overall I like the Mixtape. In my opinion I think Flocka had a stronger presence here than Gucci and even shines much potential for Flocka to possibly become one of the best MC's in the future. Don't think I've gone native I still have plenty of issues with some of Flocka's Trap ways, however that's another day's discussion. I still give him props for making it work. Gucci May not have been as strong in presence as Flocka, but he still put down some impressive verses. Definitely an enjoyable listen for anyone who can't get enough of the personality of Gucci Mane La Flare, and Waka Flocka Flame.

The Revival Update
Most of the production is finalized for the album now the writing stage is in progress. The lyricism is expected to be high and there is plenty to be lived up to on this album. So far there are 14 tracks planned. The beats are sound very old school and lots of old school Casio keyboard effects were used. The beats will be complemented well by the great vocal performances lined up for them. The album art is being worked on the current cover (pictured to the left) has been altered and this is version 3 of it. The cover is aimed at representing the them of the album which is supposed to be "fun and colorful." Stay tuned for more updates as the release date for The Revival approaches.
